It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our friend & colleague Dave Weller following his short battle with cancer. Dave – who had worked with us at Cemplas for the last three years – was the epitome of a completely unselfish person who always made time for everyone else. He had a fantastic outlook on life and had an innate ability to keep calm when everyone else around was panicking!

With interests that included scuba diving and playing the guitar, Dave always made time to join in with extra-curricular activities with colleagues where possible. Always being game to give anything a go, this included taking part in a VERY challenging 50-mile charity bike ride (with very little training!) in the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire in the pouring rain to raise money for the North West Air Ambulance! He wanted to take part in the 2018 London to Brighton Bike Ride for British Heart Foundation in June of this year with three of his colleagues though sadly he was too unwell at that stage to join them.

A lover of music with diverse tastes including punk, Dave took part in the Rock School project last Christmas playing guitar and singing. His ‘Dad-dancing’ was legendary too and he just didn’t care who was watching! Dave also absolutely loved pub quizzes taking part every week in one quiz team or another.

We’ll miss you sorely Dave, including the Friday quiz!
