> 40lm of new drainage channels installed
Stone stair treads replaced following re-waterproofing
The scope of this refurbishment was to re-waterproof areas of the surface car park and entrance steps directly adjacent to the building’s undercroft car park.
Before: Leaking Entrance Steps
During: Block Paving Removal & Excavation
After: New Pedestrian Walkway
The block paving and sub-base around the perimeter of the building had to be removed followed by excavation to expose the existing concrete surfaces of the capping beams. Following the installation of new ACO drainage channels to the entrance and exit ramps, Sikalastic 8800 was hot-spray applied to re-waterproof the excavated areas. After back-filling, the original pavors were reinstated with the addion of new yellow paving creating a pedestrian walkway.
With water ingressing to the undercroft car park via the existing entrance steps, these were removed and replaced with new stone treads installed following the application of the Sikalastic waterproofing system. Re-waterproofing works adjacent to the exit ramp were also required to make watertight.
Landscape works also saw the removal of hedges surrounding the front of the building and replaced broken slate to reduce ongoing maintenance needs.
After: Steps Fully Waterproofed
After: Drainage Installed
After: Exit Ramp Watertight
