The scope of this refurbishment was to carry out substrate repairs and re-waterproofing to the existing concrete barrel roof measuring some 1,600m²

The existing mineral felt membrane was badly aged-damaged in areas with extensive defects used by vegetation growth. Following removal of the mineral felt the exposed 20mm cementitious screed was very friable and had to be stabilized prior to being overlayed .
Also included in our within the scope of works for our contract was the replacement of the existing outdated and damaged leaking rooflights. For safety reasons a complex crash-deck scaffold had to be created within the building below to enable staff washrooms to continue to be used during the rooflight replacement works.
Re-waterproofing to the adjacent roof parking deck was also carried out by Cemplas at the same time.
