Collegelands is one of Scotland’s largest regeneration projects, which has largely remained vacant since the mid 1970s.
Funded by Standard Life Investments, Dawn Group in partnership with Glasgow City Council produced a Masterplan for the regeneration of the former railway
siding into a vibrant, new commercial, leisure and residential district in Glasgow’s City centre.
The project consists of over a million square feet of space: containing a mix of ofﬁces, hotel, multi-storey car park, student accommodation, esidential and retail units. The buildings will acknowledge Glasgow’s past but will look to the future and offer high speciﬁcation space, designed to appeal to the needs of the
Sika approved specialist contractor Cemplas have installed waterprooﬁng systems to Multi-Storey car parking decks and other structures on numerous projects for over 40 years demonstrating the knowledge, experience and skills to consistently deliver high quality results.
During the 1st phase, Dawn Group (the main contractor) appointed Cemplas Waterprooﬁng and Concrete Repairs Ltd the £700,000 contract to apply in excess of 30,000m2 of Sika waterproof deck coating to the Multi-storey car park.
Sika 161/264 was applied to the intermediate decks over eight ﬂoors on a fast-track programme.
Cemplas operatives applied Sika 350N elastic two part, solvent free, polyurethane resin to the top deck.
This project will prove to be a tremendous boost to Glasgow City Centre with
its proximity to the M8 motorway network, and Central and Queen Street
Cemplas have both the capacity and resources to undertake projects in excess of £1m, and have a Management Structure capable of running multi-disciplined projects incorporating a wide variety of trade activities as well as the ones they specialise and undertake themselves.
